Jost Hochuli

For many years, my relationship with GGL was not exactly cordial, but nevertheless quite friendly. Once – I can’t remember the reason – he spent the night at our house, together with Philipp Luidl. Ursula, my wife, liked him well enough, but she would also take the mickey whenever she found him to “Germanic”. He didn’t hold it against her. For several years GGL, Ursula and myself used to meet regularly at the ATypl Congresses, where he would often be in top form if he had an appropriate audience. Being the rascal he was, I suspect that he searched the stage at every opportunity, not only to sharpen his own profile, but also that of Berthold, his company. Insofar he was his master’s faithful servant. We think back fondly of him – with a smile.
