In this contribution, a “Selection from a Selection” of international works of the Type Directos Club is being analysed and commented in this contribution. In spite of all attempted objectivity, it is purely subjective.

The Journal “form”
was founded in 1957 by Jupp Ernst, Willem Sandberg, Curt Schweicher and Wilhelm Wagenfeld as an “International Revue”. Over the years it established itself worldwide as a leading magazine in the areas of product, industrial and communication design.

“(…) Any competition, whatever the subject, depends in its judgement on a majority decision. This is a good thing, because it is democratic, and at the same time a bad thing, because it’s levelling. The composition of the jury, their preferences and personal ambitions play a considerable part in finding a judgement. Time and place, as well as the daily form, are an influence, as well as a certain degree of casualness which no juror can avoid after such a critical marathon. (…)”
