“What will the Future of Typography look like” – this talk was given by Günter Gerhard Lange at the First International Symposium of Typography in Hamburg on 23rd November, 1987.
A slightly corrected reprint of this talk, taken from the audio tape recording, is included in this booklet. GGL was orientated towards the projection, he was talking freely and with his audience in mind. Using many examples from international practice GGL illustrates, how typefaces can be created by alternating capitals, italics and the Antiqua basic font. Of course he also includes some historic background, e.g. about the Antiqua or the creation of the Futura by Paul Renner.
The first part of this talk was printed in the issue of 3/88 and will be continued in the “Satzspiegel” 4/88.
